What is TkHTMLtidy ?

TkHTMLtidy is a Tcl/Tk front-end for the W3C tool "tidy" to clean up and pretty print HTML/XHTML and XML. It includes the most part of tidy's options. TkHTMLtidy does not work on Microsoft Windows. Look at TidyGUI for this non-operating system ;)

Installation

Installation is not mandatory but recommended.

Note you MUST BE ROOT or equivalent (via sudo) to install it properly. Launch the installer :

./install

The script is copied to /usr/local/bin.

Stopped. If you want to add new features, please fork the code of TkHTMLtidy. Contact me for further informations.

0.50 (11042005) :

• option --wrap added

0.44 (10122005) :

• fixed a bug that occured when rcfile was saved for the first time and another with conversion option (UI only)
• replaced spinbox with a tk_optionMenu for encoding
• removed the useless variable $default_encoding

0.41 (10022005) (bugfix) :

• Fixed an UI bug : the results window is now well-sized with all window managers
• A typo error has been corrected in the uninstall script

0.4 (10012005) (probably it's and will be the biggest one) :

• l10n support : all strings used for messages has become variables and are in the same place, for easy translation (v0.3x, not released). Look at l10n_howto.html to know how to translate TkHTMLtidy
• Configuration mode : you can store your defaults settings in ~/.tkhtmltidyrc file with it. It's a shame it was not in previous versions :] (v0.4x)
• The Code has been (in a large part) rewritten to support the two previous changes.
• Close buttons added where it was needed (about and results dialogs)
• The bottom bar has been a little redesigned
• Geometry is now managed : all windows are in the center of the screen
• Installation script has changed, it requires Tcl v8.4+, reflecting what TkHTMLtidy needs.
• Uninstallation script added

0.22 (09252005) :

• source and/or destination file errors are managed inside TkHTMLtidy, instead of using the HTML tidy output
• Accessibility checks option added

0.1 (09052005): Initial release
